Oh dear. What are we to make of the news that there has been NO global warming in the Southern Hemisphere? Surely we shouldn't let science get in the way of a good end of the world story...?

Now, it is not often I pay any attention to the thoughts of Desmond Tutu BUT the BBC reports that "South Africa's voice of conscience,(LOL!) Archbishop Desmond Tutu, has questioned why respect for the law, and even life, is missing in a country still struggling to move on from the days of apartheid." This follows the news that the country's annual crime statistics have shown a sharp rise in some areas of violent crime.
Tutu is worried about crime - the high murder rate, the rape of children, and the cold-blooded, gratuitous killing of motorists whose cars are hijacked.
"What's happened to us?" he asked. "Perhaps we didn't realise just how apartheid damaged us so that we seem to have lost our sense of right and wrong."
No. Apartheid has nothing to do with it. The harsh fact is that whilst the regime of Apartheid was WRONG, that which has replaced it is little better. The ruling ANC is a corrupt cabal of gangsters and it has comprehensively failed to improve the lot of most of the people of this otherwise impressive country. Few, if any, within the political caste have shown real leadership and have flinched from tackling the widespread lack of respect for the rule of law. The people themselves seem ambivalent about what constitutes decent behaviour - necklacing was their invention after all - and this cannot possibly be blamed on the evil of Apartheid.
The fault begins and ends with the people. I think Tutu asks some of the right questions - but, predictably, he gets the wrong answers.

Interesting to see that as the Conservative annual Party Conference beckons, a YouGov poll for The Daily Telegraph shows support for the Conservatives slipping away because voters are unsure what he stands for. This CANNOT be correct! Surely everyone knows that Cameron is a ruthless metropolitan based opportunist who is ditching every worthy Conservative principle in order to win the plaudits of the left wing media. In a clear demonstration of how unhinged the Cameroonians have become that intellectual giant Stephen Dorrell declares that:
"If we say it is more important to deliver tax cuts than growth in education and health, we will lose the election."
So, he is claiming that it is better to continue to pour further millions/billions into the black-hole of the public sector rather than allow the people of the UK to keep more of their hard-earned cash.
Why would any Conservative vote for such an ideology???????

This is a new claim from the Reverend Al Gore - the high priest of wacko environmentalism. It now appears that smoking cigarettes is a "significant" contributor to global warming! Gore warned hundreds of U.N. diplomats and staff on Thursday evening about the perils of climate change, claiming: "Cigarette smoking is a "significant contributor to global warming!" Gore, who was introduced by Secretary-General Kofi Annan (Who else?) said the world faces a "full-scale climate emergency that threatens the future of civilization on earth." (And he wasn't just referring to what might happen if the Dem's ever get back into power) He showed projections of ocean water rushing in to submerge the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City, parts of China, India and other nations, should ice shelves in Antarctica or Greenland melt and slip into the sea.
He didn't show what might happen if an asteroid hit Earth, or if the Moon was to wobble out of orbit, or what might happen if the Sun went supernova - but one thing is for certain - smokers would be held to blame!!! More risible unscientific claims from Gore.

Did you read that 16 boys born in the UK have been called "Kofi" - presumably in honour of the crook and moral deviant that runs the United Nations. 6 other babies were called Blade - one assume in tribute to the Vampire hunting character played by Wesley Snipes. However both these obscurist names are trumped by the 22 babies called "Spike" - and this is where I take issue with the survey's conclusion that this must be in relation to a character from Buffy, the Vampire Slayer. It could just as easily in tribute to Spike Milligan - the now deceased popular entertainer, it could be in tribute to the bulldog in the "Tom and Gerry" popular cartoons, or it could even be film producer Spike Lee. I wonder how many babies born will be called Saddam, or perhaps Osama?

Those Islamists who detonate themselves in order to kill as many people as possible in as merciless a manner as possible are surely the personification of evil. That a section of Islam admires such monsters is a direct challenge to that so-called religion (or pathology, if you prefer) but surely those of us who oppose the death cult of self detonation should be swift to condemn the killers and to highlight the calculated barbarism carried out by this legion of the damned in the name of Islam.
But when I read the daily litany of some Jihadist detonating themselves in Islamistan, such as this one that happened in Kabul, I believe that those who report the story are almost glorifying the brutal act and plainly using it to enforce their own leftist agenda ie We have to get our military OUT of there - right now - since we can't stop the suicide bombers. They are winners and we are losers. It's an obvious leftist subtext.
Of course we can't stop all the suicide bombers. These people are quite happy to blow themselves into eternity, taking as many Muslims/Christians/Jews/Atheists with them as possible. The media presents each suicide bombing as a success and a blow against Bush. And in doing so, it feeds the enthusiasm of those Islamic deviants who inculcate the death cult into their young and impressionable people.
I'm not sure how you deal with the suicide bombers. Killing them before they detonate is obviously the first line of defence. But should our military also not be identifying the households from which they come and then punish them? As it is, those Islamic households who produce self-detonators enjoy prestige and hero-worship when their kids commit mass murder. Maybe they need to enjoy a little bit of incarceration so they learn that life as the host of a self detonator is not a blast?
Suicide bombing is an act of grotesque evil. Those who carry it out are evil. It shows how primitive and violent the enemy is. Our media should be exposing this cowardly aspect of the Jihad but it prefers to almost admire the bravery of the self detonators. From Cherie Blair to Jenny Tonge, the UK's leftist intelligentsia sympathises with these self detonating monsters and the culture that hero worships the Shahids. So perhaps we cannot be too surprised when the MSM also chooses to indirectly tip the hat their way.

Are the Norwegians taking the p*ss or what? Did you read about the decision in the local district that schoolboys must sit on toilet seats when urinating, not stand?
A new rule was announced for boys at Dvergsnes School, prompting outrage from Vidar Kleppe, the chief of The Democrats Party. He's accusing the school of "fiddling with God's work," and now he wants the issue discussed at the executive committee level of the area council, according to the newspaper "Dagbladet."
"When boys are not allowed to pee in the natural way, the way boys have done for generations, it is meddling with God's work," Kleppe, whose group is a splinter group of former Progress Party hardliners, said in the newspaper.
He has a point - so to speak!

Samantha Nicholson of Bradford has been terrorised in her home by a gang of local teenagers, who threw bottles and bricks at her windows, sat in her garden late into the night playing loud music, threatened to burn her house down and burgle it and subjected her to vile abuse. She is now leaving the area.
At some point during her family's ordeal she slapped three of them. The Police immediately sprang into action. Now she has been sentenced to an 18 month community order for assault.
The Judge is overflowing with sympathy as he hands down the punishment, being certain that “any right thinking member of society would be appalled” by what she's put up with. They will also be appalled by his role in this shameful case.
