We all know that the Government has lost ALL control over who comes into this United Kingdom. So are you REALLY that surprised to read that the Government is concerned that 45,000 “undesirable” migrants from Romania and Bulgaria could legally be allowed to live in Britain when the two countries join the European Union next year?
It has drawn up a confidential “warnings index” of people from the two states, most of whom are suspected of having criminal associations or posing a security risk. According to a paper circulated in Whitehall last week, ministers fear they may be unable to stop these people settling in Britain and claiming state benefits when Romania and Bulgaria join the EU.
The paper reveals that the government privately estimates between 60,000 and 140,000 Romanians and Bulgarians will arrive in Britain in the first year after accession. So, all you have to do IS DOUBLE that figure and perhaps you will realise the tsunami of crime that prepares to enter the UK.
David
I think you are underestimating the situation. When new EU accession countries joined last year the govt. estimated 13,000 would enter in the first year, the true figure was more than 600,000.

Surely the simple solution is that the UK leave the EU with immediate effect.

Colm,
So true - you can't believe a WORD that Government says on this. I believe that us Brits are generally speaking a tolerant lot, who once provided with the facts, can take a considered view. But Government seem determined to lie and spin and mislead and con us. Hence the seething discontent out there...

Will the Government be building new prisons to hold 45,000 additional prisoners!?!

I go along with Alex. I want to belong to a sovereign nation again. A nation where we, the people, have the final say as to what we can and cannot do. A nation where we, the people, decide who can and cannot come here. The only difficulty with this is that we, the people, are not listened to by our servants/politicians etc.

Agreed Alex and Peter. I want the same but our political class are ensnared by the EU -fleas in a trap.

When Turkey gets in, may the day never come, the situation would be a hundred times worse.

I haven't studdied the subject ofthe EU in any depth, but I'm deeply suspicious of many who support it and we first entered on a spin of it being a trading club.
My instincts tell me that we shopuldn't have "Europe" running our affairs. On the other hand our Government seems incapable of doing it either!
