One thing I hate about the concept of having to pay taxes is the absence of consent over where that money eventually ends up. As a taxpayer I too have to fund the disgusting Franco-rustic dominated gravy train that is the European Union. That same organisation has now decided to spend some of my compulsory contributions on propping up the interim government in 'Palestine' - the same government elected to power on the back of hundreds of Israeli deaths.
Auntie Beeb, doubtless delighted at such European Dhimmidom, tells us the EU will help to plug a $50 million shortfall in revenue after Israel took the perfectly reasonable line that it was not prepared to give money to Palestinian pigswill who denied its very right to exist. Spokeswoman Emma Udwin then attempts to insult our intelligence by claiming the money will be channelled directly to 'suppliers' instead of the Hamas elected members. I supposed it's a bit like saying: 'It's a pity your house has to be bulldozed to make way for the new ring road. By the way, I've just bought shares in Tarmac'. Whatever aspect of the institutional authority is in receipt of Dhimmi munificence, the money is nevertheless going to aid a region whose people are totally beyond the salvation of decency. Why shouldn't they pay dearly for electing a band of fanatical murderers?
This support further confirms the politics of weakness: namely that you can buy off extremism by money alone. Aiding the 21st Century Nazis of the West Bank and Gaza Strip won't stop them voting for killers. If anything it will redouble their determination in the face of such weakness from Western institutions. When will they ever learn?
Everyone loves Hamas. Even Israel will continue with humanitarian aid.
