You'll recall my scathing comments concerning the outrageous claim from PSNI Chief Constable Sir Hugh Orde that Belfast was policed more efficiently than London. Here's an image of a main road in Belfast today. As rioters set fire to a bus and caused mayhem, the politically correct PSNI stood by and did nothing If this is Sir Hugh's idea of effective policing, I pray God I never experience his version of poor policing!
David, what can the police do? If they intervene, they are condemned as being heavy-handed. If they don't intervene, they're idle or whatever!
Put yourself in their position. What would you do?

I notice 40 police officers were 'injured', and will, no doubt, be taking time off sick; when they can fill in their claim forms. Good to know that the PSNI are following one RUC tradition.

Why the inverted commas on "injured"?
Do you hit yourself on the head with a brick for fun?

'Why the inverted commas on "injured"?'
Experience of hearing policemen brag how they conned the taxpayer by lying over injuries.

A quarter of a million pound, brand new Citybus burned out by evil, good-for-nothing layabouts, who are just a bad as their republican counterparts.
In case anyone does not know, Belfast only in the last year or so had double deckers reintroduced onto the streets of the city, as during the "troubles" they were taken out of service due to the added security risk of undetected bombs being on them.
