"I have no doubt the abnormal mutants of South Armagh and West Belfast will have already gone through numerous articles of underwear as the frenzied idolatry so beloved of that condemnable tribe reaches its zenith"

LOL, catch a grip McCann

Ultonian Scottis American

To quote Gerry, "There is only one IRA."

'All IRA units have been ordered to dump arms'.

Does this mean to put weapons in arms dumps, with "dump" being merely a synonym for "cache"? Surely, he doesn't mean "dump weapons in the ocean".

Rod

Also to quote Gerry, "I am not a member of the IRA."

And then he resigned!

Anyone who believes anything that these murdering scum say is a fool of the first water.

Mike Cunningham

Hopefully, the weasel words of this bunch of murderers will be heard for what they are, a load of bullshit (but that's being less than kind to the average bull)!
The news flashes are already full of "historic" and "groundbreaking" comments, when what we should be hearing are the words of condemnation for a set of murderers who have literally shot their way to the doors of government!
I have often stated that Dr. Paisley is the epitome of everything which is intransigent and one-sided within the Northern Irish equation, but at least the man stands up for a little bit of reality, especially when the ground is covered in the slime produced by the leadership of the I.R.A.!
Let's hear the words of shame and regret, let's hear the words apologising for the dead of the bombings, and all the other atrocities committed by this bunch of pschopaths, let's see the £22 million returned to the bank; and then we might start to believe in a "Full statement"

DaithiO

Andrew,

You truly are a twat.

Over and out.

Nationalist

I can understand that unionists can be skeptical of the overtures from republicians considering failures in the past (some of these failures were though set by Unionists to fail - I'm not going to rake over that old manure any more). Saying that even if the IRA came out and said "The War is OVER!" and that "All volunteers hand your weapons to the nearest police station" and like statements you would still hear fools like McCann running their mouth. That's cool as thats were he seems to get off on it.

I actually agree with Big Ian when he says that the truth of the IRA's statement will be in the actions and not the words and not just in the next days and months but over the years. I hope that the IRA are sincere in their words and I also hope that Unionism will allow this to play out as it will without trying to win brownie points over the enemy by raising the rhetoric level as has happened before.

I ask Unionism to be skeptically optimistic - wait and make the IRA prove their words before verbally launching some diatribe against them.

Does your right wrist ache yet?

Daffy

F*** ***

Over and out!!

Seditionist

Perhaps you'd care to point out where my analysis is incorrect instead of straining at the leash to pour vitriol on the message board.

Chris Gaskin

"Gaskin

Does your right wrist ache yet?"

What ever you are smoking McCann stop, it's rotting that wee brain of yours

Democrat

Andrew
I would like you to reconcile your wish for Sean Kelly to die in agony of cancer with your alleged Christian beliefs. You proclaim your Christianity, but I have seen absolutely nothing resembling that religion in your hate-filled postings.

If, as you believe, you will be judged by the Almighty, it is very obliging of you to provide Him with so much evidence that you are filled with Wrath and Hatred and one can only presume that you will spend eternity with people who are of a similar temperament.

Incidentally, a man bereaved by the Shankill bomb spoke today on Talkback and spoke with a humility that I and most people can only applaud. You who have not suffered from the IRA as he did, would do very well to learn from his example. However, your sin of Pride will probably prevent you from realising that.

Andrew McCann

Gaskin

I'm drinking the elixir of conscientiousness. What's your excuse for voting for murderers?

Democrat (huh!)

I am a Christian, and in the Christian tradition, a man is supposed to be punished for his sins. Is 6 months of prison per life for this animal indicative of that stance? I hope he suffers in ways you and I could not imagine, frankly.

Democrat

Them Andrew, whatever else you are, you aren't a Christian and you should stop thinking of yourself as that.

But dont take my word, you are so filled with hatred that it will kill you in the end. You have intellectual talent, but you will be asked to account for what you did with that talent. Im afraid the answer might not be satisfactory, but then I wont be doing the judging. Good luck.

Andrew McCann

I'm filled with unimaginable hatred for terrorists, Democrat. When they rot in hell upon leaving this world, will you question the judgement of higher authority in such terms?

BTW, if you listen to the reaction of people like Michelle Williamson to Kelly's release, she is no less trenchant than I. Are you going to question her integrity into the bargain?

Get off your saddle, matey. Your backside must be getting sore.

Madradin Ruad

This member of the unionist community thinks they have done what is needed. I'd have preferred an outright statement that "The War is Over", and I have misgivings that they still leave some wriggle room over the ireland of the 1916 proclamation -which was to be Gaelic and catholic - but IMO this is real progress.

Chris Gaskin

"Gaskin

I'm drinking the elixir of conscientiousness. What's your excuse for voting for murderers?"

That their elixir is messing with your mind, put down the bottle and have a glass of sanity

I am a member of Sinn Féin, of course I will vote for Sinn Féin.

The Troll

OK everybody you can all breath easy now Mad has declared all is safe the terrorists have done what is needed.

Andrew McCann

'I am a member of Sinn Féin, of course I will vote for Sinn Féin.'

Myopia rules OK.

The elixir is distilled with sanity. Your drink is imbibed with moral depravity. You are, without doubt, contemptible.

Madradin Ruad

Troll - being realistic - what more could you have reasonably asked ? What's missing from the statement that prevents us from moving on ?

The Troll

You don't ask You demand varification of dissarmament. You demand the turning in of all those still wanted for acts of terrorism. You demand transparancy and you demand statements of condemnation. If the IRA wants to be recognised as a legitimate army to be negotiated with They must come forward and Identify themselves and their chain of command. Without that OPEN view of the combatents They are nothing but terrorists and therfore need not to be dealt with by empty non-varifiable promises but with bullets and the hangmans noose. If they want to be treated as a legitimate army they have to show themselves as one.

Chris Gaskin

"Your drink is imbibed with moral depravity. You are, without doubt, contemptible."

If you mean I hold british interferance in Ireland with contempt then yes, I do

I would like to thank you Andrew for a foreign perspective on the issue of the Irish peace process.

Andrew McCann

Gaskin

'If you mean I hold british interferance in Ireland with contempt then yes, I do.'

And there's me thinking Ireland became a separate country in 1921. I don't recall any British inteference at Ravensdale, Blacklion, Lifford or Muff. Care to elaborate?

KRB

'If you mean I hold british interferance in Ireland with contempt then yes, I do'

God forbid they interfere in the affairs of a country that is a legitimate part of the United Kingdom.

Paul

MR
"This member of the unionist community thinks they have done what is needed"

"What's missing from the statement that prevents us from moving on ?"

After all the lies and subterfuge practised by the Republican movement not only over the last 8 months but since the signing of the GFA, do you not think you're being too quick to take them at their word?

Madradin Ruad

Troll - that makes no sense. I asked what you thought they omitted from their statement , not what you would like to see happen to them.
We asked that they amde a declararation that they have quite violence for good and will limit themselves to democratic methods. We got just that. What more could you have asked they include ?

Chris Gaskin

Ireland aka 32 counties, I forgot your from England.

Check a map

but just on bitish interferance in the 26 counties
