Good to see that hundreds of Spanish people have demonstrated outside the European Union's offices in Madrid against a European Parliament debate on the Basque separatist terror group, Eta.
The protesters say the "peace process" started by uberliberal Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero is immoral and that the EU debate will give publicity to terrorists. But the hard left socialist Spanish government says Eta is the last active terrorist group in Europe and it is therefore normal for the parliament to discuss the issue.
Tuesday night's march was organised by the Association for the Victims of Terrorism, with support from the conservative Popular Party. Eta remains on the EU's list of illegal terrorist groups.
But that won't stop the EU seeking ways to cut a deal with the ETA terrorists. I'm afraid the European political elite are a craven and cowardly bunch of appeasers and this love-in with ETA is as predictable as it is loathsome.
I see ETA have been learning from SF, from the Grauniad no less :
A heist on an arms factory has many convinced the Basque separatist group Eta is back to its old ways, says Giles Tremlett
and
The manager's daughter-in-law and two grandchildren - one aged seven and one aged nine months - were held overnight in a car in a nearby village. They broke free early the next day.
Spanish media reported that handcuffs taken off two French police officers by pistol-wielding Eta members in March had been used in the attack.

Thanks for posting this, DV, and for feeling happy for decent Spanish people.
Yesterday, on the eve of the negotiations ETA stole weapons in France -looks like they really have no other place to steal them-, even after "promising" our "delightful" President they were not going to try to obtain more weapons, after been negotiating -Zapatero with the terrorists- since 2001 -yes, with Aznar in power-.

The Guardian writes about it but is suffering because right-wing PP does not support the "peace process".
There has been massive demonstrations this past year in Spain but international MSM never gave a true account of them.
Looks like the EU has passsed the resolution to negotiate with ETA.
here in Spanish -321 in favor, 311 against, 24 abstentions-:

Lady Vorsheva,
Thank you for commenting, and I wish all those many Spanish people who oppose this treachery my best wishes.
