Feeney Watch - 18.08.06
We're all Jooos now, exclaims Bigoted Bri. That's if you're in the pro-Union camp in Northern Ireland. The piece is loaded from the start, with the sort of carefully interwoven anti-Zionism so common amongst the republican untermenschen in Ulster. He claims the British government would never have bombed the Irish Republic in response to IRA terrorism. The Republic indeed sat on its hands and never played an adequate role in undermining the IRA. However, quite what that has to do with the Israeli response in Lebanon, where Hezbollah is an actor in its power-sharing government (yes, power-sharing, Dr Feeney. The Holy Grail of Fenian ambition) even though it is committed to the destruction of the Jewish State, escapes me. That leaves the only other analogy - the one between Ulster's British and Israel's Jews. As both were on the receiving end of a terrorist campaign designed to destroy the constitutional unit they proclaimed loyalty to, the analogy is very much a real one.
Israel's excesses' created Hezbollah says the Bigoted Preacher. How about a true appraisal of history, where the actions of the Arab World gave rise to those alleged 'excesses'. Do we hear anything about the sustained Islamic desire to wipe Israel from the face of the earth? Of course we don't. For to mention that would, by default, justify the actions of the same Israeli state Irish republicans detest so much. And when that same hatred permits you to lie to your readership about the genesis of Israel ('...they stole the Palestinians' land in 1948...'), what chance of including facts giving rise to the determination of Israel to defend itself?
Then we return to the nationalist legend. 'Similarly in 1973 after the north of Ireland had failed as a political entity...' I love the regurgitation of drivel. Nationalists will always continue to believe such lies in the same way that a troll looks in the mirror and convinces himself he's an Adonis. No matter how many observers say otherwise, the troll will believe his own lie because to do anything else would fatally undermine his sense of self-delusion. By every conceivable social and economic factor, Northern Ireland outperformed the Republic at the time of Stormont's end. What does that say about the Hibernian Emerald City to the South? Northern Ireland a failed entity? The Republic was far ahead in that league and, in many respects, continues to be so.
Moving on, BB returns to some good old Paisley bashing. '...unionists have repeatedly voted for a man regarded as a ranting buffoon to be their tribal leader'. In complete contrast, nationalists have voted for a man who once served in an illegal terrorist organisation, justifies the actions of that organisation, yet doesn't even have courage to admit his true role. A man who cannot even bring himself to admit that the IRA ever committed any crimes. A man who carried the coffin of Thomas Begley after his part in killing innocent men, women and children on the Shankill Road. Give me a 'ranting buffoon' over an evil, fascistic pig every time.
Finally, Feeney assumes the role of Judge: the supreme adjudicator on what comprises a deserved scenario. He believes both Unionists and Jews got far better deals than they deserved. Oh, and why's that, Bri? Was returning the Jews to their ancient homeland with international legitimacy on their side too good for them after enduring years of anti-Semitic genocide courtesy of Hitler and his mob? Is allowing the British folk of Northern Ireland a land area of 15% of the island's total - without having to endure generations of republican terror - too much to ask given their historical, geographical and ethnic links to the rest of the UK? For BB it seems so. Belfast now has in its journalistic ranks a balding, republican Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who, beneath his nastiness and sanctimonious bullshit, really would like to see Israel and Northern Ireland collapse under the combined forces of their enemies. Well, that 'ain't gonna happen', either.
Do not give the bigot the oxygen of publicity.

>>He claims the British government would never have bombed the Irish Republic in response to IRA terrorism.<<
Well, he can't be right all the time - it DID !

He and his ramblings are a complete waste of space.
Even his friends must realise that he's secluded in his own little universe...

Pity Gael Walker didn't give us a few examples of how "the left has a long record of persecuting and discriminating against Jews in Britain and America"
Could anyone help her?

Yes, I can. But I don't rate her.
