Not sure what your views on this are but I don't have much time for the call from the Federation of the Retail Licensed Trade in Northern Ireland urged the Government to ensure that the number of premises selling alcohol in Northern Ireland should not be increased.
This strikes me as faux concern about the effects of liberalised license laws and more of a lame-fisted attempt to inflate the value of a liquer license! It's not the NUMBER of premises selling alcohol which is the issue surely. It's the age of some of the kids buying it - and the binge drinking culture that we need to deal with, in my opinion.
