WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON?
Did you hear the sympathetic treatment that the BBC Radio 4 interviewer gave the Palestinian apologist for the Hamas rocket attacks on Israel this morning? Absolute bias! The Pally propagandist droned on about how Bush and Blair had a responsibility to assist the PA to help "persuade" Hamas not to slaughter Israelis - not once being asked why had the PA itself done nothing to prevent such barbarism? Indeed, the interviewer COULD have enquired why PA President Abbas had invited rocket-hungry Hamas to join his Government! Instead it was the ISRAELI spokesman who received the BBC ire! WHY was Israeli attacking Hamas with such ferocity? Why was Israel arresting people (terrorists) on the West Bank? We all know whose side the BBC are on.
David, I read this on the BBC this morning
"Announcing the end to rocket attacks, the Hamas leader in Gaza, Mahmoud Zahar, said the organisation was committed to a ceasefire which militants declared earlier this year.
Zahar said Hamas wanted to protect the Palestinian people
Mr Zahar said that in stopping attacks on Israel, Hamas wanted to protect the Palestinian people from what he called Zionist oppression.
Palestinian leaders and Egyptian mediators had been pressing Hamas to stop.
The BBC's Alan Johnston says Hamas is in danger of being blamed for by Palestinians for drawing Israel back into Gaza just two weeks after a withdrawal welcomed with huge relief by the local population."
The big question all the time from Arab statements, all of them, is what value should be put on any promise or statement that they make.
Unless there is a change of heart and they really do accept the right of Israel and the right of the Jews to have a Homeland in ancient Palestine then do not ever believe a word they say.
Note also the position, precarious, of Hamas. Hamas and Arafat's PA brought nothing but misery to Palestinian Arabs. They have had a chance to set up a (second) Palestinian state so many times but all they really want is to destroy Israel. By the way my criticisms of Sharon over Gaza betrayal still remain.
You are so right about the bias of the BBC and Media against Jews (Israel) and I find this is always reflected by a number of contributors on this and other Irish sites.
This was driven home for me in the silence of some otherwise loquacious ATW contributors when synagogues were being razed by nazi Palestinian Jihadists just a couple of weeks ago.
This latest report by the BBC began with this loaded and biassed paragraph:
"Israel has continued air strikes on the Gaza Strip, hours after Palestinian militant group Hamas announced that it was ending rocket attacks on Israel. "
Question to Hamas and Irish supporters "Why begin rocket attacks in the first place".

Did anyone hear 'Talking Politics' on Radio 4 on Saturday - it was like a propaganda broadcast for the socialist workers party. Presenter urging on socialist commentators to condem capitalism and no attempt to offer balance. I'm afraid it's time to pull the plug on the Beeb
