AN OPEN LETTER TO PEACE MOM!

I thought that this was rather good, it is an open letter to Cindy Sheehan from Clifford D. May and is being published as a full page ad in a local Waco newspaper...

"You say you want to know, “What is the noble cause that my son died for?” They would answer: Your son died fighting a war against an extremist movement intent on destroying free societies and replacing them with racist dictatorships.

The Iraqis will want to tell you what life was like under Saddam Hussein – the mass murders of hundreds of thousands, the women and girls who were gang-raped by Saddam’s cronies, the creative forms of torture that were ignored by the “international community.”

I know several Baghdadi businessmen whom Saddam suspected of disloyalty. He had their right hands amputated. Want to meet them? The doctors who were forced to perform these amputations are worth chatting with as well."

With thanks to Jackieblogs.

I think it's quite clear now that Saint Cindy is one of those sorry sorts who were never gifted with much intelligence or morals. All the anger has left me. She's just a pathetic excuse for a human-being now. I feel so sorry her now.

*for*

I thought it was a lack of intelligence that got us into this war?

She obviously has morals or her son would never have stepped up and joined to fight in the war - the apple does not fall to far from the tree.

I see that a slight majority (just over 50% and no more) think the President should meet her. As I said to Troll the image of a grieving mother waiting to speak with the president is a powerful image. Troll didn't think so because someone told him/her to and Troll swallowed it.

The president already met with 'Mother Sheehan' as you would probably like to call her, Nationalist.

She spoke of him in glowing terms at the time.

It's funny really - the media has whipped this up into something that is quite large when in fact there are very few that support her in this country. The counter-protest that came into town was much larger than 'Mothers' gang. She's a whole lot of nothing and when she wakes up one morning and realizes that I am afraid that she will off herself. She's been badly used. However she has allowed it in her pursuit of her 15 minutes of infamy.

The image of grief has a way of shutting down any debate on the issue. How can you argue with a grieving mother, wife, father? It's a disgrace that her grief is being used in such a way.

Look out Nationalist - there are many others who are grieving (therefore having absolute moral authority as well!) and they don't support 'Mother' Sheehan and they are starting to speak out.

She has already seen the President. Why the hell should she see him again? Should he then see EVERY mother who has lost a child in the various battlefields of the War on Terror TWICE as opposed to the once?

What about the parents whose son has been injured but not killed? Maybe they should get to chat with the President as well once?

Let's make a table!

Son killed in Iraq due to terrorist ambush: 2 visits

Son killed in Iraq by friendly fire: 1 visit

Son killed in Iraq by generic terrorist attack: 2 visits

Son killed in Iraq by combination of friendly fire and terrorist fire: 4 visits

Son killed in Afghanistan before 2002: 3 visits

Son killed in Afghanistan after 2002: 1 visit

Son killed in Afghanistan by self-inflicted wound: 1 visit

Son injured in Iraq or Afghanistan: 1 visit

Son injured in Iraq or Afghanistan by self-inflicted wound just like John Kerry: Half a Visit

"the media has whipped this up into something that is quite large"

..this is, I think, the 4th time the subject of this woman has been raised here.

" I see that a slight majority (just over 50% and no more) think the President should meet her. "

So what? Around 90% of the UK most likely believe in brining back capital punishment - should we therefore bring it back? Let's find a grieving mother of someone who was murdered and parade her around the non-existent conservative media.

" this is, I think, the 4th time the subject of this woman has been raised here "

I think it's fair to talk about and respond to what the media is talking about.

Damned right it is Poosh. I think maybe our Jo feels a tad...how can I put it....embarrassed at the crazed antics of this harpie Sheehan, don't you?

DV:

No, lol, I was just passing a remark on Monica's comment on "the media" - ATW is part of "the media" too, you know! Mountain and molehill an' all that? ;)

Sheehan has actually attacked all the Mothers who support the war and basically said their opinions don't count, only hers. I doubt the media is gonna point this out, but none-the-less it's not a good idea for her to have people recording her every word.

It was bad enough finding out she’s anti-Semitic...

All I said is that the image of a grieving mother is a powerful image. I think that I have been proven right. I know it isn't the only reason for this stories longevity and depending what perspective you have differing influences are at play.

The points being made are asking whether she should get a second visit with the President. I don't really have an opinion on that as I can understand that Bush is a busy man and can't meet with everyone. It would be stupid to think that he could or should. At the same time how often does he meet with fundraisers and corporate chiefs for non-political matters? I think Sheehan should donate a couple of thousand and then he would have to meet her.

Monica - thanks for being presumptive enough to tell me how to speak - I know I'm not Muslim but its nice to know you are now extending your influence on US immigrants as well.

Just on a isde note - Bush uses the image of grief to justify pretty much everything. The image of 9/11 has been used for anything

Nationalist - your 'Mother' Sheehan will not get that visit with the president.

Most Americans with a few brain cells know she is full of shit - even if you don't.

I'm telling ya - when she realizes what an ass she has made of herself she will have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning. The people fueling this little media trick - you know - the KKK and the anti-Semites? They don't care about 'Mother' Sheehan. Not one little bit.

In difference to the UK its refreshing to read something like Clifford May's published letter/ad countering the victim mentality and to hear that there are those americans fed up enough with the media circus around this moonbat to the degree they counter protest.

Tony Benn tells it as it is :
Bush is the real threat

I've had enough this woman needs to be draged from the back of a truck. I'm sorry but enoughs enough.

She is nothing but a poster child for the rabid looneys that roam the streets of america. Look at them the mad pack of lefties foaming at the mouth to use her. They'll ring every drop of blood out of her as the poor exploited woman that has sacrificed her son. When the only ones exploiting her are the left, and the only one who has sacrificed is her son. His sacrifice was a nobel and honorable one HE GAVE HIS LIFE FOR HIS COUNTRY AND FOR WHAT HE BELIEVED HE BELIEVED IN ENOUGH TO RE-ENLIST TO GO TO IRAQ this woman is a disgrace. and after the left loose interest in her, her family needs to put her on a suicide watch becouse thats when it will hit her and she will want to die. Not only over her loss but for the shame and disgrace that she has done to her sons memmory.

poosh

"So what? Around 90% of the UK most likely believe in brining back capital punishment - should we therefore bring it back?"

Yes your country would be better off with a death penalty.

Think of how many fewer IRA terrorists there would have been to be set free.
